Sharing the Joy: Calligraphy Experiences from This Year

・Relaxing and calming: Many participants shared how peaceful they found the experience. Sitting quietly and focusing on each brush stroke seemed to offer a moment of mindfulness away from their busy lives.

・Private, tailor-made experience:

Guests appreciated being able to write freely in a private, tailor-made setting. Being able to express themselves at their own pace made the experience deeply satisfying.

・Traditional Japanese house atmosphere:

Experiencing calligraphy in a traditional Japanese house added a special charm. The old wooden floors, sliding doors, and gentle atmosphere of the home created a unique and memorable environment.

・Tram ride through the city:

Several visitors mentioned that getting to the studio by riding the tram was a fun and memorable part of the day—turning the journey itself into a little adventure.

Joy of creating:

Despite some initial nervousness about making mistakes, most people ended up enjoying the process more than they expected. Seeing their work take shape on paper left smiles on everyone’s faces.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share this art and culture. Watching people connect with calligraphy and leave with a sense of accomplishment is always heartwarming.

I look forward to welcoming more guests next year, and hope that through these small cultural exchanges, people can experience a little bit of Japan’s heart and spirit.
