This experience was more than learning an art form; it was a quiet reflection on appreciation, presence, and peace.-Calligraphy in Osaka
I’d love to share a wonderful review today from a participant who visited us all the way from the United States♡
Japanese Calligraphy Experience — 自愛 (Self Love)
Today I had the honor of being welcomed into a kind woman’s home for a private, 1:1 Japanese calligraphy lesson. She greeted me with tea and delicate seasonal treats, creating an atmosphere that felt calm, sacred, and beautifully personal.
As I practiced each stroke, I was reminded that calligraphy isn’t just about writing — it’s about intention, patience, and the energy we bring into each moment. I chose to write 自愛 (Jiai), which means self love — a message I continue to carry in my own journey.
This experience was more than learning an art form; it was a quiet reflection on appreciation, presence, and peace.
